Kanematsu Corporation is a general trading company that develops and supplies varied products and services in a wide range of businesses. Due to its background history in the port industry, designers incorporated a lot of marine concepts into the interior design. For example, unlike the traditional rectangular-shape reception desk, the designer makes the reception desk shape a beveled edge, mimicking the shape of a ship. The entire space has a blue color tone to bring out the ocean image. By using the wavy pattern carpets, the entire office space creates a beautiful sense of flow, reminding the employees and the visitors the origins and essence of the company.This showcases the designers’ capabilities of creating an elegant and functional office space at the same time. The majority of the elements stay white and light gray, to set off the beautiful blue.
